St. Charles real estate-residential homes and listings for sale.
————
The dormant St. Charles Mall property, leveled almost two years ago after standing empty for seven years, still might sprout new shopping centers for the area.

Officials of Shodeen Management said this week that they are readying a presentation to the city to develop the vacant 24-acre site, near Randall Road and Route 38.

The company’s plan tentatively calls for a combination of stores and homes to be built on the land, which is east of the Jewel-Osco store and north of Route 38 (Lincoln Highway). The development would be called The Centre of St. Charles and ultimately could total more than 100,000 square feet devoted to stores. This can bring much tax dollars into the area.

“It’s in development for the first retail spaces,” Shodeen Management Vice President Doug Summers said, adding that no date has been set for a city presentation.
